Update From the Elders August 30th, 2024

BYBC Corporate Prayer Plan

Join us in lifting up Back Yard Bible Clubs in prayer!

BYBC is here!

Join us over the next 21 days as we earnestly pray for BYBC that all who participate would experience God in a new, personal, and powerful way!  We begin Sunday, June 23rd and end Saturday, July 13th in celebration of all God has done in our church and community.  A devotional will be posted each morning on Instagram and Facebook.  During these 21 Days, we invite the whole church to reflect and meditate on the same thoughts and prayers together, with one mind, guided by and depending on one Spirit.  Let’s pray!

Day 1: June 23rd

Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

Faithful God, we come before You with hearts overflowing with gratitude and full of anticipation for the upcoming BYBC. Thank You for the privilege of being able to share Your gospel with the children and families in our community. We pray that this week will be a time of divine revelation, where the lost come to know You in a deeper and more personal way. Lord, we ask for Your divine guidance. Lead our Youth in communicating the message in the lessons, activities, crafts, and songs that will inspire and nurture Your children whom You love so dearly.  May every moment be filled with Your wisdom and anointing.  We commit this BYBC to Your abundant grace and transforming power. May it be a time of divine encounters, lifelong friendships, and a deeper understanding of Your unwavering love.  All glory and honor be to You, now and forever.  In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Day 2: June 24th

Ephesians 4:11-13 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Lord Jesus, You have placed it on the hearts of these leaders to take on this big task of providing a space for children in the community to learn more about You. Thank You for Your guidance as they plan, prep, and promote this fun, summer event. We ask that You grant them the creativity they need to navigate through any challenge they face in the coming weeks and the patience they need when things don’t go quite as planned.  We thank You for Your love for others that moved the Youth to do everything they can to make this happen. Help them remember that all this work is for Your glory so that more hearts will turn to You! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Day 3: June 25th

Psalm 33:1-3 Sing joyfully to the Lord, You righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him.  Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.  Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.

Lord Jesus, thank You for stirring volunteers’ hearts to be part of BYBC and support our Youth as they go out to share the good news. I pray for opportunities for them as well to share the good news as they sit and talk with parents and caregivers in our community.  They could have filled their time with other tasks, but instead, they chose to follow Your command for the great commission. As they prepare for the responsibilities they volunteered for, may You provide them with the energy they need to bring joy to every task, the words to speak that reflect Your love to those they interact with, and the patience they may need when things seem overwhelming. Use these volunteers as a vessel for Your love so that everyone who comes into their presence, whether it be a student or a parent, will catch a glimpse of who You are. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Day 4: June 26th

1Corinthians 12:18-20 But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

Father, for some students, this time together can be exciting. For others, it’s a bit scary. We pray for peace and clarity of mission for all those who will be participating in BYBC. May they grow in their friendships with one another, have fun, and most important, learn more about You. We also pray that their minds be sharpened to understand Your word on a deeper level.  That they would apply that knowledge as they learn the curriculum and communicate clearly the love You have for all mankind. We pray for team unity in every activity, Bible story, song, craft, and game. May they experience the delight of Your presence and form cherished memories. Help them to learn valuable lessons of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Day 5: June 27th

Psalm 100:1-2 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.  Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

We thank You for the hosts who have volunteered their time and energy.  We pray blessings over them.  Father grant them peace and wisdom as they welcome families to the clubs.  We pray they would develop meaningful relationships with their neighbors that are glorifying to You.  Lord, we lift up the friendships that will be formed during BYBC. May these connections be grounded in love, kindness, and mutual respect. We pray Your people would encourage and support one another on their spiritual journeys. May the bonds they forge be lasting and bring glory to Your name.  All glory and honor are Yours.  Amen.

Day 6: June 28th

Psalm 127:3-4 Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s Youth.

Lord Jesus, BYBC looks different for every parent, and we don’t need to know the reasons why they chose to send their children to BYBC this year. Regardless of their motivations, we pray that they will see how BYBC positively impacts the lives of their children. For families who are not believers, we pray that You would work through their children at BYBC to share the Gospel with their parents. May they have eyes to see You working in their kids’ lives, ears to listen to the lessons they heard, and hearts open to learning more about You in the process. In Jesus’ name.

Day 7: June 29th

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,

for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Father, thank You for moving in the hearts of the children and families who will be attending BYBC. May their understanding of Your love for them and the gift of Your Son take root in their lives. We pray that they will have the courage to ask questions, to think deeply about the lessons, and to walk away with a little more knowledge of You than they had before.  As the children engage in games and recreation, we pray for moments of joy, laughter, and fellowship. May they experience the delight of Your presence and form cherished memories. Help them to learn valuable lessons of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance.  Amen.

Day 8: June 30th

John 6:69 We have come to believe and to know that You are the Holy One of God.”

Heavenly Father, we pray for the seeds sown during BYBC to find fertile ground in the hearts of these children and their families. Water and nurture those seeds so that they may grow into a vibrant and unshakable faith.  May they become beacons of light in their communities, sharing Your love and truth with boldness and compassion.  In the name of Jesus, our Savior, we pray. Amen.

Day 9: July 1st

Psalm 40:3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.

Lord, we ask for Your anointing upon the worship sessions during BYBC. May the songs sung resound in the hearts of the children, reminding them of Your goodness and faithfulness. Stir up a spirit of praise and adoration within them. Let their voices unite as a sweet offering before Your throne. We ask for Your anointing upon the lessons that will be taught during BYBC. May Your word come alive in a way that captures the attention and understanding of each child. Day 12: July 4th

Psalm 62:5-8 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, You people; pour out Your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

Gracious God, we are reminded of Your faithfulness throughout the generations. We thank You for the opportunity to pass on the rich heritage of our faith to the lost. We pray for the safety and protection of every child, teacher, and volunteer involved in BYBC. Guard them from harm and surround them with Your angels. Let this be a time of joy, laughter, and peace.
